FULL CARE RETIREMENT

Meadowbrook, in partnership with Tolland Falls Ventures, was created to offer an economical, guilt free solution that allows your equine partner to be a “horse” in his golden years. We focus on taking the time and worry off of owners by offering a full range of services to ensure your equine’s comfort and safety.

We believe that the most stress free world for horses is one that mimics their natural environment. In the wild, horses roam free, bonded together with the other members of their herd. The horses at Meadowbrook are kept outside and are not blanketed.

Meadowbrook Full Care Retirement Includes:

• Lush, well maintained pastures
• Small, compatible herds
• Daily Monitoring (manager on site)
• Run In Sheds for Shelter from the elements
• Hay – Fed via Round Bales in Winter
• Grain (will incur an additional up-charge)
• Free access to water and mineral blocks

For Herd Health Full Care Retirement also includes:

• Basic Farrier Work (Quarterly Hoof Trim)
• Vaccinations
• Quarterly Worming

We do limit the number of retired horses depending on herd dynamics and our ability to adequately maintain and rotate our pastures. Herd size typically does not exceed five horses and pasture sizes vary in acreage accordingly. All pastures include access to a run-in shed for shelter from the elements.

We are very serious about pasture maintenance and our pastures are routinely rotated, fertilized, sprayed for weed control, and irrigated when water supply is available. During the winter months the horses’ grazing is supplemented with hay grown from our own fields.
